Name this presser foot
I am seriously considering selling my Janome and am gathering up everything that came with it. This is a mystery presser foot, not in the manual, and I really don't think it came with the Janome. It very clearly has an H stamped on it, but when I did an online search for presser foot H, it showed a wide zig zag type opening. This one has two single needle holes. I am stumped. I have a Brother, and a Kenmore so it may have come with one of those. Any help is appreciated.

Can we see a picture of it?
|
I tried to upload it and failed. Let me try again.

Sorry, I cannot get the photo to upload. I've tried several times and keep getting the upload failed message.
Thanks anyway |

Thanks anyway But I think I may have found it, I don't understand the second hole. I believe it is Janome foot " 200-331-009" "straight stitch foot" I had downloaded http://www.janome.co.jp/e/pdf/home/AccessoryCatalog.pdf a while back and found it on page 30 (31 of 84). Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |
I did a quick Google search on "presser foot H" and this came up.
https://www.thecolorfulworldofsewing...er-Foot-H.html It clearly has an H on it but does it look like the foot you have? |

Your right it is a straight stitch foot that you can adjust your needle to where the hole is to make your straight stitches. I have never seen this foot either. It seems like a handy foot for some uses on the janome.

I am curious so I will be watching this thread. Some kind of cording foot perhaps?
|
I found that if I didn't put the hyphens in the part number "200331009" when I searched, it brought up more results.
I also saw that the 1/4 inch foot as shown at https://www.janome.com/accessories/s...nch-seam-foot/ has two holes like the one pictured, but has the additional guide. According to https://www.janomesewingcentre.com.a...w-foot-h-foot/ it is for 7mm wide feed dogs and that is only for straight stitch in Central Needle Position. Handy if your needle moves right and left...mine doesn't. :(
|
Could this be a foot for a double needle to sew a straight stitch so you would have an even line of double
stitching on whatever you are sewing, your machine must have something for two needles. |

Why are you selling your Janome? I'm curious as I have an older one that I just don't use and it has always had such terrible tension/stitching issues I won't sell it to anyone. It was a floor model at a local Janome dealer and they could never get it to work right either.

I agree with using two needles with this foot, it would be the same as a cover-stitch on stretch fabric.
