Does anyone have a pattern or just give me some ideas to use about "55" ties for a lap quilt.

How about a crazy quilt?

Dresden plates look really nice made from ties.

Here's my favorite!
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-22667-1.htm You could adjust the size for the number of ties you have I would think. Even better if you can get some more ties. 78 would be good then you could make it 13 blocks total. I found a lot of ties at church thrift shops for 25 cents each. |

I use the strip piece method on muslin foundation. This goes real fast and you can arrange the blocks in different designs. Moosegirl

Not sure who off the top of my head, but someone just posted pics of a beautiful "Fancy Fans Tie Quilt". That's a great idea. You should check out the pictures.

Moosegirl; this quilt is "outstanding" You are one talented lady. I have already removed all seams from my ties (is that the correct way?) If I am doing this correct I will continue and see what I end up with similar to yours. Can you come back with what each of your squares measured?
