I don't want to use the Pellon fusible fleece lining called for in the Bow Tucks pattern so what do you use instead? Was thinking of using a Pellon fusible but not the fleece. Does it need to be heavy duty or fusible on both sides? Thanks, Ann in TN

I used reg cotton batting and spray baste. Worked just fine. Use what you have. Be sure and post photos:)

Only one side needs to be fusible.

I used the thin batting on the roll at wallyworld...none of it was fusible as I'm too cheap :)

I just cut them the same size as directed and quilted away. I think they use fusible so it doesn't move around but I didn't have that problem.

I did run a line of fusible webbing down the center when I did the handles just to hold them while ironing.

I don't always quilt my bags, so I do use the iron on fleece. Spray baste and regular batting would be fine if you quilt the pieces. Have fun with the project!!

why not regular batting and misty fuse or stitch witchery?

I liked the results best when I used Fusible Fleece on the outside pieces and Decor Bond (heavyweight interfacing) on the lining pieces. It gives it a bit more body.

Thats what I do too ! I like them a bit more 'stiff'

ooooh...I like stiff as well..so I have Peltex...is that similar to what you use? It is a heavy interfacing made for bags like Timtex, but fusible on both sides! I have timtex as well! I can also get Craf-tex medium and heavy!

I used fusable, but it didn't fuse very well. Worked just fine anyway. I think it was too old. You do need to make the bag stiff though so it looks nice and holds it's shape.
