I havent been on here in a while probably since May the summer has been very busy at work (fight attendant) and I havent had time to sew.. anyway one of my last post was asking for suggestion on how to do a quilt that was a copy of a sign - thanks for suggestions - I finally put it together last week however in using spray adhesive to stick the applique to the fabric some of the spray adhesive 'dripped' on the edge of the 'sign' and left spots. I can't get the spots off I have tried washing using oxyclean spot cleaner and shout and they won't come out. I am almost at the point to remove the circle of the sign and replace it which means I have to go to JoAnns to get more fabric, wash it iron it, remove spotted, ring cut new one put new one on. I have not ironed that spot of the sign do you think that would help or goo b gone? I would love and appreciate any suggestions before I start removing the ring ...pictures follow.

I've not tried it, but at this point, maybe Goo Gone or Grandma's Spot Remover?
Sooooo sorry! |
I use lighter fluid to take adhesive labels off of items. I guess I can't hurt to try it.

thank goodness I haven't appliqued the ring just bast stitched so I could easily remove if need be thanks for the suggestion I'm going to try them will let you know

Regular Coca-Cola removes many stains and WD-40 is also good at removing grease and oily stains. Just be sure not to let either one dry completely before laundering as it may cause a new stain.
It looks great otherwise. How frustrating! |
Maybe try Dawn dish soap...

You might try cornstarch. Mix it into a thick paste, rub it into the stain and let dry completely then wash out. Very good at removing even old oil and grease stains.

What brand of spray adhesive did you use? I'm wondering if a call to the manufacturer might give you something specific to try.

Well I tried Goo B Gone, Hydrogne Peroxide, and lighter fluid, and washed again I think it's gone...is now hanging on shower curtain drying, I have several cans of spray adhesive and don't know which one I used (dumb I know but..) I didn't see spots when took out of dryer -always fluff in dryer don't 'dry'- Thanks for suggestions....I never thought about not letting something dry cause it could leave spots, but I will remember that from now on. Tomorrow I'll give it a look and finish appliquing the circle then I'll be asking for suggestions on quilting outside the circle...:)
