I found a picture that I would to make into a quilt for my nephew. I'm not the best at applique but I thought maybe I could fuse it and then stitch it all down. Not sure what that method is. try to find other fabrics with that team and randomly place them around the main focal point..

Maybe buy this poster and enlarge the pieces to make the center larger? :D:D:D

Do you have access to a projector that can hook into your computer?

Check out the licensed fabrics for various teams that JoAnn's carries. (Or do a fabric search on the team name?) Maybe there is a fabric featuring that team that you could add to your applique.
(If I wanted to do a detailed applique like this I would use Heat'n'Bond Ultrahold.)

You have to be careful about the iron on interfacing you use, I did one once and the appliques stayed too stiff . But fusing pieces down and then using a narrow satin stitch around the smaller piecces would just look like outlining, then use a wider stitch on ther larger pieces. After doing the one that was so stiff and not caring for the look, I used a Pellon interfacing that is very thin and soft, then I used a little glue to hold in place for sewing. I liked that better. Also, I've seen fleese with the panels on the web, just don't remember where, something like that you could just cut around the logo and stitch down, less work, and still be able to finsih poff the sides in a manner you would like. In fact, I think that would work real nice, a soft fleesy logo would stand out real well.
