I am working on my first Downy for kids quilt and it calls for "pillowcase quilting" to finish it up. Can some one show me a picture of a finished quilt with this done to it.

Thanks,
Chase

I think it's the same as birthing a quilt to finish it.

Ah, seems simple enough, thank you

Okay, got to ask, what is a downy?

downy is fabric softener. the downy fabric softener company is sponsoring a program, quilts for kids in hospitals, you can read about the program on the downy site, they even offer a free kit to make the first quilt, just request the kit it arrives free, then they hope you will make a second quilt with your own fabric and send it in too.

Wow, thanks I will check that out. What a great idea!

I've done a few of these and it is okay if you do a traditional binding or self-binding (where you pull some of the backing around to the front and stitch it down). I usually do the self-binfing technique on these because it is easier to me.

I just love to see the fabric combinations they put together!

Be sure to post pictures of your finished quilt. :)

I do the self-binding as well, it seems sturdier that way....
