I have located a APQ millennium quilting machine for sale. The head is 7 years old and the 14' table is about 10 years old. There are some other things that go with it, but I don't know what they are. I have no idea what a good price is for this machine and I have never used one. I am needing a new source of income and this might be the answer I need. What is a good price for this machine? I need all the help I can get. Thanks!!!!

I can't tell you for certain but I just found a couple online between 6 and 10 years old without the frame for 9,000 - 14,000.

I am sure someone will have some insight for ya!

The homequiltingsystems group on Yahoo! has a file of used machines for sale. Try joining that group, not just for info about prices, but also for lots of good advice. Longarm quilting for business is very different from longarm quilting for yourself, and there may be some pitfalls you want to be aware of.

Here is a link to the used section of the APQ website. You can compare the price of a refurbished machine with the one you have found for sale. You would expect to pay considerably less for the local one as here won't be a warranty.

A good price is dependent on how much use the machine has had. If used daily for a quilting business, it would be worth less. The options on the table (hydraulic lift, electric quilt advance) add to the price. Also, what add-ons are included, for instance Hartley Fence, Extended Base, Circle Lord, Micro Handles, etc. Are shipping and setup included? This could add an additional $500-$900 to the price.

And finally, what would you consider an acceptable price to purchase the machine?

I've seen 2000 - 2007 model Milleniums sell for $9,000 - $15,000 on the APQS site. A 2006 model recently sold for $11,000.
