Need answer quickly re: washing
Just finished batik quilt for gd's shower today. I am including some color catchers with it and am printing out
a note to say how to wash it etc...... I usually wash mine in warm water; is this correct? Or should it be cold or hot? Thanks for your responses. I need to get it wrapped then off to the shower this afternoon. Remember it is all Batiks. |
If it were mine I would wash it at least the first few times in cold water.
I will agree with that
thank you.

Sorry no help here I don't buy batik fabrics. I have lots and lots of other fabrics.
Did you wash these fabrics before cutting them?
Or will this be "the first time" for them? |
first time.
I always wash in cold water anyway except whites with bleach!
I wash in cold water the first couple of times whether the fabric is woven, printed or batiks. I've never had any problems with any fabric. I don't prewash before I cut. I like the body of freshly purchased fabric. I like your including a few color catchers in your gift.

I usually wash in cold water however I glue baste my quilts and I find to dissolve the glue I need to wash in warm water given my high efficiency washer uses less water. I never wash things in hot water.
I only wash in cold......and use color catchers with batiks..........................
I normally wash Batiks in cold or warm. However, I made a chemo quilt for my brother and his wife has washing it in hot water numerous times and it has held of well.
