In need of applique ideas
 

Sorry if this is the wrong section to put this in. I couldn't figure out where it belonged here on the board.
I love to applique and have lots of books, but I'm looking for something new and awe-inspiring, especially for doing wall hangings. For those of you who love to applique, can you send me the names of some books you love that have patterns and/or ideas? I'd greatly appreciate it. I understand this. When I want to sit and relax this is what I do instead of quilting. Right now I'm learning how to do 3D flowers. I'm really fortunate. I have a teacher that for 3yrs has been teaching us civil war classes and last year she did a 2 day applique class then we all decided to start a bee at her house. Some of us have finished that 9block quilt and this was the next project that we chose out of her tons of selections. She's been teaching all typed of things for years and is great with it all. My first applique class I found out from her was with a lady from the Baltimore Album society and she came here to teach a weekend class. What a great way to spend your time. I don't have books but if you do a google search or on here and there are free patterns out there and there have been some posted on here.

what kind of patterns are you looking for modern, traditional, landscape, floral, animal, it would be better if you narrow it down because there are hundreds of applique books out there with patterns that are all different, and have different approaches i have a lot of books so if you narrow it down I can recommend some of my faves

I am in the same boat. I am just finishing up Birds of a Feather and am looking forward to my next project. I found "One Piece At a Time" by Erin Russek. I purchased the center block for Mini Bloomers and am dowloading the pattern each month. You could do all of it or as little as you like. Fat Cat Patterns also has a BOM going on and again, you could do what amount of it you want to do. The material will make it modern, traditional, etc. Have fun, there are lots of free patterns out there. If you want something really challenging, try William Morris patterns.

I LOVE to applique (if you can't tell from the avatar) but got sick of the typical Baltimore patterns. I like the stained galss patterns as mentioned from jemma, and also Mexican pottery and Majorcia pottery designs - those lend themselves really well to applique designs, especially for wall hangings. The cool thing is that you can ggoogle for example, Mexican tiles, and come up with a boatload of pictures that are great for inspiration.
