Need a baby quilt using charm packs
 

Hello, I picked up 2 charm packs of bright colors plus 2 jelly rolls that could possibly go with them but can't think what I could make out of them quickly. This baby is due this month if she hasn't already decided to present herself yet. I'm already making 2 baby quilts from a "Sprinkles" kit I picked up from Connecting Threads and still have some parts of the 36 fat quarters left over to add to it if necessary. I also wanted to add some embroidery designs in some of the blocks but that's still up in the air. Looked thru some of my books but nothing popped out to peak my interest. Could make up a bunch of pinwheels and add some snowballs for the embroidered blocks.

Suggestions appreciated.

This a baby quilt that I made for a baby shower recently. It is just charm squares set on point with some coordinating fabric. I used Quilters Dream Supreme batting, which is a thicker loft, SID around the squares and then out-lined the print on the border. Very simple really, but I think it turned out really cute because of the cute prints in the fabrics. The momma seemed happy with it!

The pictures were taken after it had been machine washed and dried. My picture taking is not so great , but I think you can get the idea:)

What about an Irish Chain? I've just started a single Irish chain quilt for my niece that has Sunbonnet Sue appliques in the center of the solid blocks. I'm strip piecing it, but you definitely could use charm packs.

Ohhh... I've never worked with pre-cuts so I'm not sure what a charm pack's size is, but I found something that says it's 5". If that's the case, I'd recommend Amy Gibson's Cross My Heart pattern on Craftsy. Super cute!

Something really easy would be to frame two sides of each charm square (one corner) with strips from the jelly roll, then stagger the setting so the charms look like they are "dancing". Here is a Dancing 9 Patch that is done the same way, but with 9 patches instead of charm squares:

Thanks for all the great ideas. Found a couple on ModaBake that look interesting. As I have 2 jelly rolls and 2 charm packs that basically go together though not the same fabrics, with the patterns you folks directed me to I think I can get started.

Problem right now is late last night I was trimming away and somehow my hand got in the way of my cutter and I sliced a deep cut at the knuckle on my right hand. Good news is I'm left handed. Bad news is I use my right hand a lot. Boy did that peroxide burn like a banshee. Had to sit that one down. Finally got it to stop bleeding as I really didn't want to take a joy ride to the ER. Taking it easy today though and will go back to trimming tomorrow.

Again, thanks for all the great idea. Now to decide which one. Think that's the hardest part for me.....that and which quilting pattern to use on the quilt itself.
