I pieced this today, would like to add a border to increase size, it's 35x46 now.
I would like some input on what to do for a border :)

I think a dark blue border would be nice. Or the darker pink that is in the blocks. Cute quilt!

I would use the pink as in the block borders as the narrow border and then a wider dark blue as in the blue block borders. That's a darling quilt top!

I would audition a border in pink followed by a border in the dark blue, probably with dark blue as the binding also.

I think I want a darker pink...

IngeMK 09-15-2013 03:27 PM

What about a thin green border?

sahm4605 09-15-2013 03:50 PM

I would do the thin pinky purple then the blue swirl and if you have the black andx white one use that as the binding. but that ius me. I wouldn't use the flower print.

since you already have the sashing border, i would go with a solid color beyond that... as previously suggested, the dark blue would look nice

I would add borders from the colors in that little top until it becomes the size I want it. Very pretty.

I like the idea of a narrow pink border and a then a wide blue border using the fabrics already in the quilt. I wouldn't use the flower fabric as a border. It would add a little interest as the binding though. Your quilt is very nice.

Susie-susie-susie (great name bu the way!) I agree with you totally. I love the idea of the flower fabric as a binding. And using the other two fabrics as borders.

I think this calls for a pinwheel border and then the floral....takes a little more time, but would be fabulous.

I really like the pink but then I like brights. If you are not into brights, the blue would be nice as well but I do agree that it should be basically solid. Very pretty quilt.

-- oh no, double post. See next one.

If those are your picks I'd use the pink and swirl, and not the flower at all. It doesn't match the theme of the quilt. If you want a brighter look I'd go with a strip of aqua then a binding using the yellow polka dot.

You could also do a strip of the pink, then the check, then the polka dot, then the swirl. At this point a wouldn't introduce a new fabric because what you've used goes together so well.

Love the pattern!

Prism99 09-16-2013 07:30 AM

I agree with a darker pink for the border, if you can find one.

michelleoc 09-16-2013 07:34 AM

I'd use the blue swirly fabric.

Exactly what I was thinking too! Glad I read thru these :)
You could then cut out a couple of the white flowers and applique them on one corner!
