How wide is your door? My hubby got me a bulletin board and I covered it with batting. The fabric sticks to it very nicely.

each door is 29inches

Are you looking to have a fairly large wall, or just something to put up a block or two, to see how it looks? Run down to Walmart and see what size bulletin boards they have. If you are hoping to utilize both doors, it would have to be something that would just hang down in front of them. Otherwise you would not be able to get into the closet.

You could hang some batting down the front of them, thumb tack it around the edges.

Hang a curtain rod above the door and attach a flannel table cloth to it. Just sew a pocket in the top of tablecloth to slip over the rod or attach those clip on round curtain holders and slip over the rod, this way it will be easy to slide aside when you need to open the doors.

Taping felt to the door will work fine but IF you are trying to make something more permanent, and something you can pin directly into, one idea would be to make an over-the-door mounted method like the ruler organizer I made. Only instead, glue builder's foam to the top of the melamine it and then felt. OR perhaps you could use a strong double-stick tape to mount builder's foam directly onto the door after covering the face with felt. A double stick tape made for holding carpet is very strong -- likely found at Home Depot type stores.

Here's a look at the ruler thing and how I made it if that helps:

I hung a traverse rod up in our quilting room (bought at Sears). You can spread the rod to almost any legnth you want. Buy some curtain hooks and hang a sheet and there you go. When you need it, spread it out and pin up your quilt pieces and when you're done, collapse it just like a curtain. Here is the link of my DW's post.

All of these are great ideas, I still don't have a design wall.
