I always heard to use curves on an quilt with lots of angles. It softens the effect.

I agree with using curved stitching. I think it would be a big plus to the geometrics. I never go with my first ideas anyway.

how much quilting do you want to do on the piece
|
If I were handquilting this pattern (which I love btw!) I would stitch one eighth of an inch inside the pinks, making a rectangle, then the star square would get stitched just inside the seams, and the purple... just my two cents.

Jeannie! I just saw another post about circles on a geometric quilt. It's called She wants circles.........
Do a search. I can't figure out how to get the link to you!! |

Do a search. I can't figure out how to get the link to you!! I went and looked at the She wants circles...wow, that looks great!! I will not be using a LAQ, so I have to do templates (which I have never done!!) and do it by hand or figure out some design I can do on my Viking. Sure appreciate you pointing that one out to me! What a lovely mix of colors, not to bright but
just right. I love it. Also, I agree that at least on the outside curves or waves would be nice. Can't make up my mind on the inside, that is full of straight lines. |
I have a question. Since your a handquilter. If some where to buy you some items for hand qulting what would you like. Im trying to find a gift for some one who hand quilts and Im puzzled.
