Look at the great legacy that she left you! I, too, lost my quilting buddy a few years ago. I think of her every time I sit down at my sewing machine, which is not a bad thing.

This. Put a border on first, then square. That way none of her work gets removed.

I agree.

I agree with Amma. This way you leave the authenticity of your aunts work, all her loving stitches wonky or not. I think you daughter will cherish the quilt for exactly what is . An effort of love to her great neice.

Oh no! Don't pack it away! Clean it up, square it up, add a border and honor your Aunt's memory. Only GOD makes perfect things!

I would put wonky borders on it and square up from those. What a wonderful quilt to remember her.

How determined your aunt must have been, to keep at it when it was so difficult. That is quite a gift.

Sorry for your loss. I think the quilt would look good with a squared up border of one of her navy blues, and a yellow or a red binding.

I agree with others.....square it up, add a border, then sandwich and quilt. Your aunt's work of love will be there still.

What a darling quilt! I think you need to only add a border, square the border and use a high loft batting and minimal quilting. It is absolutely charming and needs no fixing!

I LOVE the "wonkiness" of the quilt. This and her effort & determination tells so much about your aunt as a person. Truly a gift from the heart and your daughter was thought about with every second your aunt was working on it. How much that would mean to your daughter that she was treasured.

I agree with amma.

I also think tying it would be the way to go for as someone else said that way you could say 95% of it was done by your dear Aunt...
