I am actually hoping to find some firefighter themed fabric or something. My husband was on the team that got called out, and the man's niece goes to our church. Worst case scenario I will drag my husband to Joann's and make him help me pick the stuff out- though if anyone knows of any good prints at Joann's feel free to let me know that as well!

I agree about the missouri star co. I recently put a top together called double sliced layer cake. I cut my own 10 inch blocks.

I personally would do the jelly roll race. You buy a precut jelly roll. It only takes 1-2 hours to sew the quilt front. You can find a tutorial on youtube.

This is my favorite:

You can make the HST as big as you want, or follow the cutting info and add borders.

the fastest quilt i know how to make is a tack n whack log cabin.... long strips in a concentric square...

with four or five compatible fabrics, make a strip-pieced four-patch and strip-pieced nine-patch then alternate the blocks.

I like D9P. Use the strip method to make the 9-patch blocks. With strips about 4 1/2" wide (or wider) it will go very fast, and it looks fantastic done in 3 colors with the center block being the odd color.

I think I will try the Turning Twenty...does anyone know how much yardage you need for the backing?

A rail fence goes together quickly...

I would sew strips together and then cut 12 inch blocks out of them. Alternate the direction the strips run to put together. Good luck
