I pieced three baby quilts yesterday to donate, from some fabric someone sent me as a PIF. Can you tie baby quilts or would it be unsafe? I am using Warm & Natural that I've had a long time as batting.

I have never machine quilted and don't have any way to hand quilt.

I was wondering if I used embroidery thread to tie would be O.K. if I made real tight knots.

Not sure who you are planning to donate to, but you might want to check with the charity before you tie the quilts. I'm not sure about other charities but i do know that Quilts for Kids will not accept quilts that are tied. Good luck with your projects!

Thanks, I will check first. And I hadn't thought about doing a decorative stitch tie. May see how that will look after I check on the tying.

Community quilts in our area will accept tied quilts, but the hospitals will not.
