I've done this before, but never turned the backing under so I'd have a double thickness for the binding. What do you do with all the extra thickness of fabric at the corners? I'm making a wide (1") binding, so I really need your advice. Thanks so much.

You can take out some of the bulk by making a diagonal cut across the corner beyond where the fold is. I know clear as mud. I will try to find a diagram that show what I am talking about.

I have tried this method and have failed miserably!!!
I wish you success!!! I found it easier to just trim it all up and use an added binding. |

I've done this before using the mitered method, and it turned our very nice, I thought. Easy to do.
