Need help in choosing border

I started this quilt a long time ago and want to finish it. I want to add a small (2-inch) border and then a 6-inch border. Do either of these fabrics look right for the outer border? Any other suggestions?

I think they both look good, but my choice would be the print. The solid would give you a more "primitive" look than the print, if that helps.

This is a close up of the print. The non-print is a tone-on-tone.

I think I'd probably go with the tone on tone vs the print - but that's me. Have you auditioned them in the reverse as well??? Lighter fabric as inner border and darker as outer? Just a thought with no clue as to how it might look.

I agree w/ NJ, I would do the second set of "tone on tone" fabric w/ the lighter as the inside and darker as the outer border.

I don't have much of the dark fabric, not enough to use as the outer border. I need to look through my stash some more. Trying to avoid buying new fabric.

I like the print better. Then bind with the blue or red if you have enough.

I prefer the print, the tone on tone looks to washed out to me. I agree would put a red border.

I like the addition of the dark tonal even if it is only a narrow band around, then go around with the wider print border.

Either color will look great.
