My husband surprised me with a Bernina 350! Now I need a good rolling tote for it. Does anyone have suggestions for for a good tote that will fit my new machine?

If you have a bottomless budget, get a Tutto. I love my purple one. Got it through joann.com on sale. If they have it at regular price you cn use a coupon. You may wamt to go to tutto.com to check for sizes. Make sure you get the sewing tote, mot the craft one. This tote is amazing. Goes up and down stairs with ease.

I use my bluefig, its nice and a little cheaper than the tutto if your on a budget
|
just make sure it is does NOT have a ton of pockets...the more you put in it, the more it weighs..
I like the Bluefig ones because they also have the extra support feet on the front to keep it standing upright! They don't make mine anymore..but I sure do love it..has extra storage ON TOP...great for rulers, books, etc... |
Depending on the size of your machine, you can get a great one at Harbor Freight. There are a couple of quilters in my group that have one, and it's great for hauling your machine and accessories to class and retreats!
Price: $20.00. Can't beat that with a stick. http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-to...-bag-3264.html |
I have a tutto for my machine because the machine is so heavy for me to maneuver when taking it anyplace. They are nice, have enough pockets for my needs, and although expensive--much easier to just roll my machine to where I need it. I haven't seen the Harbor Frieght carriers, but would look into it before spending extra money if theirs will work for you.

hey, I put one of my machines (singer221) in a dang shoulder bag cooler , I purchased at Roses for $10.

I got a rolling knitting case on wheels at Joann's on clearance a while back for my Featherweight. It's just perfect for that size machine.
No one I know at the classes I attend is worried about what your sewing machine is, what you bring your supplies in etc. And I won't be buying one of those battery powered pin holder things either just because it's advertized for quilters. |
I too have a purple tutto - worth every penny.
A quilter I know got one for much less money on ebay. |
I have the tuttoo and love it!!. My former roll around was a Hemline with embridery case and a case for boards and rulers. It did not hold up well -- the wheels collapsed. Maybe I was overloading it, but I was disappointed since it was not a cheap set.

welcome from MN. i've used a regular rolling suitcase. i put foam on the insides first, then fabric so the foam doesn't get in the machine. works for me. i don't transport my machine that often.

I bought a luggage cart at Walmart and strapped my machine to that- worked fine for me. And no one commented on it looking tacky. I would rather spend money on fabric than on an expensive tote.

I know they're expensive compared to other options, but the Tutto is pretty amazing.
You don't want to only consider what it looks like, sitting there - is there enough room and extra storage, etc. You want to look at how easy it is to maneuver. The Tutto is effortless. It turns on a dime, goes up and down stairs without falling, can be pushed as well as pulled and you can strap up to 200 pounds on top of it and use it as a luggage cart in the airport. I had the Office on Wheels for going to trade shows and it's so easy and lightweight and balanced that I wouldn't even consider another brand. Other people were struggling to get their carts around corners without tipping over and had a heck of a time getting onto escalators and over bumps. I never even had to look behind me - upstairs, downstairs, around corners - and I could sit on it if there were no empty chairs handy. :) |
I've always been impressed by the Tutto totes.
