I have a Janome 3050, called a (Decor 3050 here in the UK). I treated myself to it about 4 years ago - after a lot of research - and I love it. It does not have a large throat, mine has a needle up and down button, and auto tension - bliss. My old electric machine nearly made me insane! I have made and quilted about 7 lap quilts, along with curtains, tote bags and some dresses for my grandchildren. It does have some fancy stitches, and there was quite a few feet that came with it. I have treated myself to another slightly larger Janome machine - mainly for the throat size. I am self taught - blogs, U tube and so on. I would say that the 3050 is a good entry machine. I have not had any problems with mine (fingers crossed that none will occur now!) Now, to teach myself, and practice, practice FMQ. Hope this helps somewhat. I bought the 3050 in 2007. When I compare it to other, similar machines....i never regret my purchase. It sews great! My travel machine. Sndy |

Yes! I have a Juki and I love it. Juki is known for its industrial machines (my ex had one and it was a workhorse). Their home machines are loaded with features (all the ones I wanted), but at an affordable price. i got rid of my BL Ellure because of stupid little problems that drove me crazy. The needle kept falling out, it gave me incorrect messages, etc. my Juki Exceed 300 is fantastic; it has auto threading, thread cutter, lots of patterns, a beautiful stitch. I paid less than $500 for her and never regretted it. The only thing I do regret is not going up to the next model, the Exceed 400 or 600. Lots more patterns and other features. i bought her from Sew-Vac direct, free shipping, 30 day trial period. Couldn't go wrong. IMHO you get more bang for your buck with Juki. |
Don't buy one anywhere you can't return it for full refund if you are unhappy with it.
