Need help for Friend-Singapore Quilt Shops and online International ordering

My friend and her husband are currently living in Singapore working with Transworld Radio. She hasn't found any fellow quilters as yet and has only found one tiny quilt shop. Based on the size of Singapore and the international population I'm hoping some quilters familiar with this wonderful city will know of some local fabric stores. Temporary residents cannot have a car so she will be using public transportation to reach her destinations so any help on the location (NW part of the city etc.) would be great! I have little online ordering experience - what sites have reliable international shipping and what are reasonable charges for this part of the world? There are so many stress points in moving into and adjusting to a different culture I'd love to be able to pass on your information and advice. There is such a vast wealth of knowledge on this board I'm hoping to give her some real help. Thanks!

Here's one I found on the board (be sure to read the last post in the thread), beginning of last year:

and here's a map for it:

Here's a list of 10 sewing shops including quilt shops in Singapore with reviews:

Thanks Prism99 this is very helpful! Thanks also to the member who PMd me with a connection to a board member from Singapore. Anyone have some information or advice for good online companies with good and reasonable international shipping?

Hi, a little late with the info.
The biggest store where people get quilting cottons in Singapore is a store called Spotlight. It is a chain craft store from Australia, somewhat like Michaels. There are also a couple of smaller (kind of like LQS) in Tanglin area.
Don't worry about cars. Public transport is everywhere. Cabs are relatively cheap.
If you are shipping stuff (packages) from US, many people use vpost. Your friend might want to check that out.
