How about printing your business card on fabric and then quilting it? Just something simple, but it would be very memorable. I have embroidered business cards and they always create a stir. |
Do you have business cards to post or leave at shops? Mine comes all word of mouth. I charge 1.5 cents per sq. inch. I just have enough to intermingle with what I have going of my own.

Yes, the economy is a drawback. But I ain't doing it for nothing just as I am sure you are not!

How about calling up your local quilt guild and offering to do a program on long arm quilting? You could offer to quilt their next raffle quilt....and ask for advertising from that.

run an ad in paper, for open house on longarm for a trunk show, go around to guild meetings etc.

My LA just started a loyalty program. Punch cards. You get a punch for every so much you spend and a punch for every friend you refer.
Do an email newsletter with quilting hints...very low key and include a coupon once a quarter or so. Start a blog. Facebook. Cards and flyers on your area. More than one guild. The magnetic sign on the car is good too. On several of the Yahoo groups you can post an ad once a month. Get you work displayed like in churches, hospitals, any place alot of people go. |
Also, if your quilt shop does any special programs, see if you can quilt the quilt (wow, sounded redundant). We have strippers club where each month they make a quilt with 2.5" strips. Then we go in, there's a floor show, and they show how to do the quilt. They always have it professionally quilted and say who did. I know if I was going to pay to get something quilted, the 2 names that come to mind are the 2 gals who usually do the strippers quilts since I hear one of their names every month. Great publicity there
