Need help with Guide Marker (laser) on my new Babylock

I am hoping someone out there has a Babylock or Brother with the laser guide marker on it. Here is my question:
Can I have the laser beam stay in the center and move my needle to the right? I want the beam to go corner to corner diagonally and then sew a 1/4" seam next to it, alleviating the need to draw a pencil mark accross the square. Am I making sense? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

What machine are you using? Are you on a frame?

Can you just try it on a scrap piece of fabric to see if it will work?

The beam only goes straight, does not go on a diagonal, but you can use it to put your needle in the center and have the beam 1/4 inch away

How do I do that? The beam always is where the needle is? Thanks for your help!
