Need Help Identifying Block
1 Attachment(s)
My co-worker just recently sold a lot of her LQS fabric and some of her ufos. (LUCKY ME) I purchased a ufo but she did not know where she got the pattern. This is where I am hoping someone could help. If anyone knows the name of the block or the book where the pattern is located, I would greatly appreciate any help. . .I have just never made triangles with the tops missing before:)

I went through all my block patterns and I do not have one like this. It really is pretty, I'm interested in finding the pattern for this as well. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

I checked my block patterns also and can not find one like this. It is really pretty!

Kings Cross maybe. or God's Eye.

I've looked for over an hour and can't find anything even close to this block pattern, It makes everything we do with a nine patch these days look like child's play and if I may say so...kinda boring.
|
If you can't find the name of the block it looks easy enough to draft out. Looks like a nine patch with strips that have squares sewn diagonally on either end.

I appreciate everyone's looking if someone finds it I would really like to see what the author did with this block and the final quilt. Otherwise I may have to try diagram it.

I like the block ... different colours than we'd often use and I particularly like that light batik/ |
The topless triangle is called a trapazoid. In the pattern you are showing, it's sort of like a flying goose unit with the top trimmed. An easy way to do this is measure the finished size of both the trapazoid and the wings add 1/2 inch to both length and width for the seam allowance. Cut two squares for the wings. Put them on the ends right sides together, sew on the diagonal and trim. Press open and you have the shape you are looking for.
