My grandson's teacher asked me to make a quilt from her dad's shirts - he died last year. I've used most of the dress shirts but there is one really nice thick Woolrich flannel shirt that I would like to use for a pillow. Somewhere I've seen a pillow where the collar was left on the shirt. Has anyone else seen it or would anyone have a suggestion on how to do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Gee I haven't seen that one, however, I envisioned the body of the shirt...........with the buttons going verticle..........and keeping the pockets............just a thought.........calla

This one doesn't have the collar, but is made from a shirt:

You could also do one using the collar and some front buttons, and fill in the 'neck' area with either more of the same shirt, or some white or other color fabric.

how about using the entire front. sew the top half of the button placket closed. loop the bottom of the shirt around to the top and stitch it down. then sew the sides closed. stuff the pillow through the open buttons on the back and button it up closed. does this make sense?
