Why not use 2 fabrics for the blocks of the quilt and then use the stripes in a border and the binding?

How about split rail fence pattern?

I read this topic although I don't have that dilemma and I just can't believe how helpful you ladies are. So many different suggestions

I used a stripe cut on the bias for a binding and it works great. Really was an eye catcher on a flannel baby quilt. I have also used stripes as a border. Also, I have just cut QST's or HST's for a scrappy quilt and let them go where they want to. Good luck and post your pic when you get it finished.

Great ideas here. This may give you a thought outside the box

cut the stripe into 4 1/2 inch blocks. arrange them so the alternate up and down, kind of like a basketweave. This is the middle. Then narrow border with the tonal, wide border with the floral, then bind with the tonal. I do lots of baby quilts this way and I get the top done in the morning and the rest of it done in the afternoon.

Could you share a picture and yardage information?

Stripes add a lot of punch to a quilt. Don't be afraid to use it. Also, it is wonderful used as binding.
