Need help please!

I have a Janome DC3050 that was working perfectly until I took it in for yearly maintenance. Since I got it back, every time I try to pick up bobbin thread, the needle thread goes down around the bobbin casing and gets stuck on the hook part (don't know what it's called) to the right of the bobbin holder. I've tried replacing the needle, checking the bobbin holder is in correctly, rethreading. I'm at a loss, can anyone help or do I need to find somewhere else to take it in to troubleshoot?
TIA,
Teri

I'd ring or go back. You paid for a serviced working machine. It is not fulfilling this.

good luck

Take it back in, sometimes something is put back not quite right, no one is perfect, call & tell them the problem & take it back to be addressed

I would take it back and have them look at it again.

The work should be warrantied, sometimes for only 30 days. Take it back ASAP.

Take it back ASAP. I had the tech leave my computer Bernina 1530 in service mode so it wouldn't sew at all when I brought it home.

Looking at your location, I'm guessing you had to drive to maybe Whitehorse to have it serviced? Yikes, hopefully you can get this figured out with just maybe a phone call to them.

Service like that burns me up! Why doesn't the repairman check the machine more then a few stitches before declaring it ready. I never leave the shop anymore without plugging my machine up and going through all the stitches. I don't care if I get rolled eyes or pursed lips from the shop. I have had my fill of really stupid machine maintenance.

I totally agree. When I purchased my newer machine (Singer 2662), I asked them to take it out of the box and make sure it worked. I also had another in mind and asked to see if it worked. They couldn't get that one to work so pulled off the shelf and sent it back. My 2662 worked just fine and still does. When I got my 401 at an estate sale I gave it a test drive with my test kit.

Thanks for your responses! He's taking it back today to get it sorted. I thought maybe there was some simple thing I was missing since I was told it was good to go. Probably should have phoned straight away since the man was super nice about it, but had to have a little tantrum moment first...I'll just blame pregnancy hormones for this drama. ;)

If/when you take it back, also take some fabric you are using. Have you noticed the piece they use...really stiff fabric YOU would never use?

Glad he is taking it back.

I had my Bernina 530 serviced recently. The store forgot to return the leader cord and foot control. Fortunately I looked immediately when we got home with it. I called and they were sure I mush have misplaced them. I assured them that I was sitting here with the machine and wrapping right in front of me. They "checked" and said they didn't have them. They had to replace them and I insisted they ship them to me because the store is quite a long way away. They did so; I am pleased and have thanked them.

Glad to hear your problem is on the way to being solved!

My machines always come back with a piece of fabric (yes, stiff stuff) under the needle. They run through a number of different stitches to show that it works and the tension is correct. That way he and I know that it really does work.

You need to call ASAP, let them know you're having problems and will be on your way. That you want to talk with the tech who worked on your machine. Take your machine back in with the problem, this way the tech can see for himself what is going on. I took my machine back in every week or so after having it serviced, no matter what I said I still ended up making the trip back because of the same problem. I left the mess on my sewing and in the machine and made the trip back again, when the tech took a look at the mess that was it. He understood that what I was saying was going on and he knew how to fix it. I stood in his shop and it was finished in about 3 minutes. Then when he did the demo, he could see and hear the difference just as I had told him. So he learned his lesson (listen to what the operator says, not the age of the machine), and I learned mine (if your machine comes back with a problem, take it back with the problem so they understand what you are seeing and talking about). Machine repair is like car repairs, they have a guid that give what the settings should be between. But each machine is just a little different, so our machines know what they like. Good luck
