Need help with ruler

I have a 10º ruler and I am thinking about using it for a quilt. Has anyone else used one? Are there any tips that can help me? Things I should or should not do?

It is also used for the Spicy Spiral Bargello, too.

I did a wall quilt/hanging using the wedge ruler. Most important hint: Do Not use the edge guide foot whhile sewing this. Use a regular 1/4" foot. Or you won't be able to have as small an opeing when you finish.
