I am needing help. I have 2 different quilts to make for my granddaughters. I am only using 2 colors in each quilt. Anyone have a suggestion on what to make? I am wanting to make these as Christmas Gifts, maybe just a lap size. Need all the suggestions I can get as my brain is just not working right now. GGG!

how old are your grands?? can you add a picture of your fabric??

I can see a hunters star with the lighter one, but no ideas for the bright one.

well maybe, If you added a third color, you could do a d9p, print in the corners, solid in the sides and a bright teal blue for the center sqares. You wouldn't need to buy very much and I think it might look nice

Night and Day is a nice two colour quilt. Drunkard's Path is another. Try looking on a modern web site for some younger designs. I like www.ohfransson.com

how about Ricky Tims' convergence quilt for the top fabric?

I suggest the Potato Chip Quilt. It takes two colors
and the blocks look as if they are floating on the
background fabric.

Tell me more about the potato chip quilt. Or do you have a picture. Thanks

We call them Rainy Day Quilts - here are some of mine:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-121803-1.htm#3209393
But I don't think your fabrics have enough contrast for it.

Can you add another fabric to the mix?
Here's another option.
Hang on one minute for a picture

This is a really, really easy pattern.
It's just 12 HST blocks with 4 corner blocks, in whatever scale you want.
So if you want a 48" square lap quilt, then each block finishes at 12".

Color A
Color B
Background

You need 4 HST blocks each:
A/B
A/Background
B/Background

Done.;-)

If you want it larger, then you make the blocks larger, or build it up with borders.
You color pairings would work well, with some fabulous background fabric to set them off.
You could finish both in a day.

Quilterscache.com has this pattern known as Starflower. It is shown as a 12 inch finished block. I think the colors would be good, but you would need a 'background' fabric.

Thanks everyone getting some good answers. I think I will have to add another material, just two is going to be hard.
