Need Ideas - Corners of Wonky ABC Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
I made these blocks by cutting a Nancy Halvorsen panel, and now I'm stuck for ideas on what to do in the corners. The corner blocks will also be "wonky", I just need some good ideas from my fellow quilters on how to proceed.

You could always just use a solid square of 4 background fabrics and I think they would just blend into the overall quilt and not standout. Or perhaps make 4 similar blocks using bits of all your other fabrics like a wonky log cabin pattern would complement your other blocks. Will be a great quilt !!

I did an alphabet quilt and though mine were not wonky I used star blocks for the corners.

How about doing applique numbers? It looks as though some of the letters are bigger/thicker than others. You could use that principle to do the numbers, since there are an uneven amount (10 letters for 4 corners). For example, upper left corner could have medium size 1/2/3; upper right corner could have larger 4/5; lower left corner larger 6/7; lower right corner medium 8/9/0. Or...you could use the corners for personalization--name, date of birth, etc. (if for a baby). Please show us a picture of the finished quilt!

Perhaps a log cabin or half log cabin block using material from other blocks..

Maybe a pinwheel block in each corner will give the illusion that the blocks are being blown wonky!! Its an idea!!

You could do a pieced strip block using the background colours from the other blocks. You could appliqué the numbers 1,2,3,4, for each corner. I like the pinwheel block idea for the corners too.

Thank you all so much for your help. All along I had been thinking "pinwheels" and I guess I'm still leaning towards that. I think I'll make some sample blocks and test them out. You've given me some great ideas to think about! :)

What about a square in a square in a wonky outside using the fabric in the quilt.

How about some of the punctuation marks in the same wonky blocks?
