Need input as to best packaged printable fabric

I will be helping a friend with a quilt. (She is not a quilter.) She would like me to print up photos of fish and then she wants to embellish them with embroidery. I would like to get the best results that I can for her project. I will be using an ink jet printer.

Thank you for your help. Yolanda Wood River

I know people on the board print photos. I have tried but they are so stiff. The last one I used, even after following all directions about setting etc., faded when washed. I hope someone has some good ideas.
Sorry, I just can't help you.

You don't say whether this will be a washable quilt or not, but before you decide to use packaged printable fabric sheets, maybe you should look at some of the other methods of image transfer used by quilters, both for art quilts and traditional quilts.

Quilting Arts has a downloadable ebook on the subject
http://www.quiltingdaily.com/media/p/18998.aspx
and there are lots of other references if you Google image transfer techniques

As a general rule, black inks (pigment based - not water soluble) last much longer than color inks (dye based - water soluble).

I believe there is a product called fabric medium that you can paint over the printed fabric to make it so it won't fade or wash out. Most of the acrylic paint lines sell it, Apple paints, ceramcoat etc.
