Need to know what vender will send samples.
I have ordered a couple of things for mother and they have come in a very different color than what I saw on my screen.
I need to get the backing for a King size quilt and want to see the color of the fabric before I buy. Any help will be appreciated. Renee for Jarenie |
Sorry, but I don't know of any. Maybe some one will come along who knows some for you. I certainly know what it's like for the difference in actual color...can be frustrating.

Go to http://backsidefabrics.com/ They will send up to ten (I think) samples for free in the US and Canada. Great service and their prices are very good.
|
Fabric.com offers swatches of their fabrics and they have a large selection of backing fabrics (and free shipping @the $35 point
|
I was going to say Fabric.com too.
If you're buying a lot of solids, I highly recommend getting color cards for the fabric lines you use the most. I have a Kona color card and I use it a LOT. |
Not too many quilt shops will send fabric swatches. I did the Fab Shophop and Backside fabric was the only one I noticed offering samples.

Three Sisters Fabrics will send up to 5 backing samples for $1.50 (that's a total of $1.50, not per sample, and no cost for shipping). The samples are 5" squares.
http://www.threesistersfabric.com/fa...and-muslins-9/ Thousands of Bolts also has samples available for many of their backing fabrics, but they're $0.99 each. http://www.thousandsofbolts.com/quiltbacks.html |
one time when I was looking for a particular kind of fabric, Keepsake Quilting sent me swatches.
|
This is great information to know....sometimes it is hard to know if my monitor is showing accurate colors.
|
I think Keepsake Quilting used to send a 2 1/2" sample square to if you request one, for a small fee of course. I would call and ask several places and find out if they have this service or if they would accommodate you.
