Hello everyone. I am new to foundation piecing but i think it's great so far. Here's my problem. I have an EQ5 program and when I printed a simple foundation pattern of eight triangles the numbers went from i to 4 two times. Anothr pattern I printed the numbers went from 1 to 5 but some of the numbers were not in order. I'm going to work with the simpler patterns first but on my last piece of fabric there wasn't anything to sew it to so I just folded it over and sewed on top of it. Was I supposed to do that? I've watched a couple of tutorials but I don't know that I saw them show the very last step.
Would welcome any advice. Thank you.

Could you post a picture of the foundation pattern that printed out 1-4 twice? And the other one too?
It is easier to help if we can see the question :D:D:D

Is the 1-4 two identical halves? That would mean that you sew each half in order and then sew the halves together.

yes madquilter on the simple 8 section foundation they were identical. amma it will take me some time to try to copy and get it to show up here but I'll ask my husband to help me with it tonight. Thank you ladies.

It depends on the pattern as to what order to attach the pieces and whether or not you can do it with one foundation or sub-sections are needed.

Log Cabin, Diamond in a Square, Pineapple, Kansas Dugout, Snails Trail, etc. type blocks can be done all on one foundation.

I went back to the EQ5 program and I don't know what box I checked but this time it printed out a foundation in two pieces. The number sequence was in order this time. Am I right in assuming that the last section needs to be sewn on the top of the adjoining section? Thanks again ladies.

What pattern are you printing? The sections need to be sewn together after you have covered all the numbered patches.
