I've never tried the "birthing method". Always have been afraid it wouldn't lay flat enough when finished. It's good to see you have made quilts without using batting. Thanks for replying.

All my baby quilts are made with fleece backing and no batting. They are I Spy quilts made of 4" (finished) squares. It works!
