Make another pattern 1/4 inch smaller for the iron on backing. Iron it on. Turn over your 1/4 inch, then either zigzag it on the block or do by hand.l Zig zag is more durable, but hand applique is prettier. Applique??? You must be mad...:) I'm trying to avoid that! :) :) But it probably would be faster than cutting and piecing them like now. Not to mention more realistic. But I wasn't really after realism so much... just the idea of animal tracks. But the piecing of them (for me) is very slow so I think I will play with applique today and see if I can handle it. I like the paws but think you need a bright border between the cats and the paws.

Love this quilt. I like the idea of an inner border also.

Love the idea of the paw prints going all aound the quilt. Be sure to put in a small border to separate the main quilt from the border blocks. You decide the size. It will be perfect because you made it.

They will pop better, I do believe. We need to see after pics ya know ;-) |
I like it the way it is.

I think your boarder is very clever, I like it. That said, maybe if the prints were of one of the lighter tones it might show better. Just a thought.
