I agree that I like it without the sashing, but if she wants sashing, the black interferes least with the design, and I think that is what you want with this. What a great gift you are giving her, to sew with your daughter. Lucky girl!

I love it without sashing! I just never have big on much sashing!

I was drawn to the blue sashing & inner border but a wider black border would work for me. Thanks for sharing.
