I have red fireworks and blue fireworks but I don't know if I can make a quilt with just those or if I should use the flag material too? And what kind of pattern to make with it? any suggestions? thanks :)

i love patriotic...your possiblities are endless...i guess it just depends on what style you like....do you want it more scrappy or controlled

Oh, Mama, the possibilities are endless! I'm making patriotic quilts for Quilts of Valor, a wonderful org that sends them to returning service men and women, and we've done a ton of them in red, white & blue.
If I were you, I'd use both fireworks and add some white or tone-on-tone and maybe some gold. Any star design would work along with another choice or two. At the moment, I'm working on a simple two block quilt which consists red and white Rail Fence and white Friendship Stars on a blue background. I'm sure others have more suggestions, but what kind of blocks did you have in mind for your quilt? Dorothy in PA |

How about applique silhouette in black or navy of people watching the fireworks? Or Lady Liberty surrounded by fireworks?

How about a 10 minute block with the centers solid?

I love that idea. Now I just need to figure out how to make it lots bigger. Super neat, thanks. I think that is the best idea I have seen yet. And it is so different. :)
