Need Pattern Ideas for Collegiate Quilt

My Grandson picked out some fabrics he liked for a quilt using his college colors. He has 1 t-shirt that we can use for a center block if I want. He liked 2 College fabrics, 1 being garnet red background with small figures & 1 is a directional fabric with white lines in the emblem design. The colors of garnet red, soft gold, white and black make up the fabric. I am drawing a blank on a pattern or design. I need help and suggestions!!!

I've made several Ole Miss quilts of blue and red. My advice is to use the directional fabric on the back as a whole piece. The one with the small figures can be cut up like any fabric. I made the Day and Night quilt twice since it can be made with two or three colors. One of the best received quilts was a simple D9P.

I agree with Toverly-I'd use the directional fabric on the back (which I did on this one). Here's an example of a Steelers quilt, you could use the t-shirt instead of the center star.

I would check these quilts out and see if there is pattern design that will suit your need.

OOOH. Nice quilt. I'm a steeler fan. But I would have liked it even if I wasn't a fan.

My USC quilt showed up in this search! Its the one with the two people holding it up! You could use the shirt as the medallion....
