Need Pattern Ideas for Fabric

2 Attachment(s)
I purchased this fabric a few years ago, and ran across it last week while cleaning out a bin. Any pattern suggestions on how it should be used? Each blocks measure approx. 5" x 8".

Thanks.

You could echo around the ladies or interior of the frames or mix it up. Like some echoing of the frame patterns or wavy lines. Each one different from the next but connected.

Anxious to see what you come up with from others' suggestions.

I do a "whole cloth quilt" out of it (4 x 3 squares with no repeats) maybe with a fun pieced border or two and then quilt behind each lady and SITD around each frame. But I wouldn't cut it because you would loose part of each frame in seam allowance and it might be hard to get them straight again!

I don't know how to find them, but there have been a couple of threads with pictures of what othe members did with this fabric. I remember one with sashing around each image

There was a cute one on the QB within the last week. I just put Bee Happy in the advanced search block and it came up. I could not copy the title, however.

if it is not big enough as a 'whole cloth' cut each block and put wonky borders on each one. this fun fabric would look great in a fun setting, imho

I posted my Loralie Designs "Don't Worry Bee Happy" quilt last week. I think I've got this panel also (I know I've got the Christmas one). You could do something as simple as add another frame around them or multiple frames.

Really cute fabric! I'm not sure what to do after, but you gotta cut em, that's what we do, right, cut fabric apart, then sew it back together! LOL!

I did the Loralei women shopping with and for their dogs. I put a neutral colored block between each block of the panel and then wrote the words to "How Much is That Doggy in the Window?" I would attach a picture, but the quilt is packed as we prepare to move out of state. I have another panel from Loralei that I do not plan to cut apart, but add fancy dan borders. froggyintexa

I would definitely cut them apart and add clever sashings in black, white and red. That is really cute fabric.

Same thought. Here is the post:

I also have some of her designs but haven't decided what to make from them.

I would use each block as the center of a log cabin, sort of a distorted log cabin because you'd be making rectangular blocks instead of square blocks.

Loved the Bee Happy Quilt and also the Pinterest quilts using the same theme of fabric. My blocks are usually a little wonky, so wonky borders might be the way to go. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks

Yeah, you could let me buy it from you. :) It's adorable. No ideas other than the first one I made. haha

Darling fabric. Looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with it.

Not sure how much fabric you have, but I'd be tempted to save a panel or two to showcase on a sewing machine cover. Or covers, if you have a collection of machines.

Wonnie 07-05-2015 04:56 AM

I like the sewing machine cover idea. You could use some for mug rugs or you could do a tote. Would be a great conversation piece when shopping!!!

I have the same panel so am following this thread with interest! I had planned to make a door hanging for my sewing room but......So many great ideas. I really like the idea of a sewing machine cover for my three machines that I keep set up all the time. Then perhaps some pillows for the sofa in my sewing room. I also thought about some mug rugs to use as guild door prizes. I'd better get busy!!!

That is what I would do, with hand quilting around each lady and frame. Adorable fabric, I love her designs!!

I have that fabric too... I am making curtains for my sewing room ...

I just did that one almost like your fabric. I did a sashing/border around each block in black and red. I will try to post a picture, haven't been able to post pictures .

Here's what I did with a panel quilt: just made several rows of sashing to separate them. The panel stopped with the colored strip next to the kitties. I added the polka dot sashings and everything in between.
