I am working on a sampler and would really love to either have this in it or as a border. It's called a true lover's knot but I am having trouble finding the pattern that will print. http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/home/tr...uilt-block.htm If anyone can find a website or at least tell me what the right name for this block, I'd been very appreciative. Thanks!

Did you try to download the pdf file? If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, it should download for you. Perhaps you need the updated version.

What a pretty block, I saved the PDF & bookmarked that page!

the pdf looks to be Paperpieced, except you have to sew the little A blocks onto the strip before PP???
not very clear is it?

draw it out on graft paper according to the size block you need. Use 1/4" grid paper.

Great block, thanks.

I got it to download on my desktop.
PM an email address & I can send as an attachment. (maybe :? )

Pretty block. It goes together just like a log cabin block variation. By variation I mean that a couple of logs are composed of pieced strips, and the logs are not sewn strictly round and round in the same direction, but still it's a log cabin. Is the issue that you can't print the pdf, or you couldn't download the pdf, or it's the wrong size - or what?

Cannot print or download it. I need the size to be 12 in

I didn't download it but printed it just fine from the site. When the block is on the screen, click advanced, click printer properties and then scale the block to 125% and print it out.

I saved it to my computer and also went to the pdf and saved the placement of the block. I can send as attach to email if needed.

Boy, you hit a bulls eye with that one! I, too, have printed out the .pdf of the block and the sampler!
Thanks for the lead!!

If all else fails perhaps I can mail you a copy. It is free so no problem.

It is 5 strips wide around the center.

Cut the center block 2 1/2" (2" finished) Cut all the strips 1 1/2 (finished 1") That will make your finished block 12"

As dunster said, it will go together like a log cabin.

Start in the middle dark, add light strips top, left side, bottom.

Add dark strips top, left side. Add light right strip, dark bottom.

Next is your pieced right strip, then light, top, left, bottom.

Top pieced strip, light right, dark left & bottom.

pieced right strip, then light, left, bottom, right, top

Done
