Need quilt ideas...
I have a bunch of batik fabric leftover from several quilts. There are light, mediums and darks...do you have a favorite pattern for this. I would like to do something that leaves the fabric in a little larger pieces so the patterns in the fabric aren't lost..not little 2x2 pieces. Any ideas?

Try "Hanging Garden". I made it with Batiks once and it was lovely.

How about an illusion quilt? There's a MSQC video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBSZxu3nHDI She uses rectangles, but it will also work with squares. |
How about 'Large Block' quilt pattern. You can google it and see many different patterns.

How about a Ginger Jar pattern - I found some really nice ones searching Google Images.

Batiks always suggest stained glass to me. Lots of free patterns online.

I made the Hanging Garden quilt for our church quilt raffle. I turned out wonderful using batik scraps. Try it!

A BQ quilt is a perfect solution to the I want larger blocks. It is make by Maple Island quilts and they are on line if you want to go and see the different versions they offer to sell as a pattern.
I went and found the link for you to their site... https://mapleislandquilts.com/miq-patterns/bq-nation/ |

My daughter and I finished this for her stepson. On Pinterest it was called Ricky Tims Convergence although it doesn't truly resemble his Convergence patterns. We made the stratas to finish at 3" wide and the widest strip was 3". We were supposed to go up and down with the pattern but my daughter finished sewing it and kinda kept going up. Most of the fabrics were batiks.
After we got the stratas cut and sewn, we realized that the end strata should finish at 4.5 inches. We think that might have helped with placement. We saw another quilt where they only used 1 set of stratas with the black background fabric between each strip. It was really cool looking. |

I did this stain glass quilt for my friend. I love it and so does she. I fussy cut some of the batiks that had flower patterns on them. Also, a quilt pattern with larger pieces.
