I have a quilt that I'm 98-99%hand quilted done. The question I have is does anyone know how to get a marking pencil out of the quilt. The color I used is a dk. blue multi pastel chalk pencil. Any suggestion's I willing to try anything. Thank you to everyone that get's back with me. Don-isewman

Don, that marking pencil should come out in the wash. If you have any doubts, use some spray n wash or other stain remover before. Read the card the pencil came on to find out how they recommend removing it. That's the best suggestions I can give.

I hope you can get it out

the only thing I can think of is Dawn dishsoap rub it into the stain then wash or use oxyclean as a paste and satruate the spot

Hi Don, Chalk should come out pretty easily, daub the line with a damp sponge and see if it will go away. Check to see that it is not one of those pencils that are made permanent with heat. If it is a greasy kind of pencil, then try a little Dawn in the water when you use the sponge. Good luck and don't put it in the dryer until you are sure those lines are gone gone gone.

If you have any of the fabric, make a test sample and try out some of the things mentioned. I don't have anything else to add. I used blue marking chalk on a white quilt years ago. It has been washed a lot and I can still see it in places. It came out of the fabric but the cotton white quilting thread picked up the blue and it's still there. Luckily it was just for myself so I just "chalked" it up to experience. I haven't used it since.
