Thank you Ladies for your replies to my dilemma. I am still not sure which way I will go but do have a fabric in mind. Saw a really nice autumn leaves fabric last week which I think would make a lovely quilt. Am going to have another look at it tomorrow when I visit my LQS, something might just jump out at me as I tend to get my inspiration on the Hop so to speak. Thanks again

You can never go wrong with lots of blues and browns for a man's quilt. Any pattern will work, but I especially like the log cabin. It is so versitile.

Maybe1day...the link below is to a contemporary quilt that a member made for her son. I am making the same pattern for my DS & DIL for christmas.

Gosh what a great quilt, loved it. Thank you for sharing the idea with me. It looks like it would be quite an easy pattern to work out. Could you tell me please what size square did you start out with or maybe I should ask what size blocks were these?
Thanks again Maybe1day |
OK, I'm a broken record, but since he likes blues and greens you have to consider Storm at Sea.

Log Cabin using batiks would be my choice for a more manly look.
