need source for nice flannel

I want to attempt a rag quilt for my not-yet-born grandchild and need a source for a good quality flannel. My small town only has Joann's and I would like more choices. I would appreciate any suggestions, preferably online sources. TIA

I bought baby print flannel at Connecting Threads and it's very good quality. I will be buying more of it when I need flannel.

I'd try thousandsofbolts.com. She always has good brands at really reasonable prices.

Absolutely Connecting Threads - their fabrics and flannels are excellent and the prices are great! I especially love that when I buy charm squares I pay the same price per yard, no matter how small the cuts are. So you can buy the precuts for the same low price per yard and get more variety that way. Love their website!

fabric.com is another place for good quality & large selection- and they offer free shipping at $35 --- which is a bonus! :)

I got mine from fabric.com too and had great results--no pilling!

Walmart has "super flannel" which is very nice and thick.....good buy too!

I make my baby quilts from Quilters Flannel that I purchase from Quilt Shops, much better quality, you can feel the difference.

thanks everyone for the ideas. I do shop at Connecting Threads. Thousands of Bolts and Fabric.com. I will check out their flannel now!

Can't recommend a source but I will recommend Moda flannel. Extremely nice quality and works up very nicely, at least with hand quilting!

There are some good sites mentioned here. You can also use fleece to do rag quilts. The good thing about them is they don't frey they just curl at the ends. Just in case you can find a good source of fleece. I made one rag with flannel designs on one side and different colors of solids on the other and then appliqued designs on the solid side (opposite of the cut edges) it turned out really nice and made it two sided
