Need Star Pattern for King Size.....?

I made a quilt from a pattern called "Evening Star" which used half-square triangles instead of "Y" seams. However, the pattern only provides for a 60" X 60". I need to expand it.......does anyone have a pattern for a King Size? Help.

I'm not sure what the Evening Star looks like, but it is made from individual blocks? Can you add blocks? Lap to king is a big jump so adding borders would help but you need more than just that.

eta: I'm trying to search for it on google but not having much luck. Can you post a link to the pattern?

Is this the quilt pattern you are referring too? It says 60 x 60 OR is it the one below?

This one says is is 80 x 80. Below is cutting directions for this size maybe if you invrease these they will get you closer to a king.

IF the pattern is the same one that frustratedquilter40 links you to, Debbie Maddy (designer) is a member of this board - maybe you could just PM her?

............ or change the block size, eg. from 3" finished to 4" finished, etc.

Or your could draw it out on graph paper, and add more layers to the star.

I made a King size star quilt using the Ohio Star pattern. I think it turned out beautiful...

I have the Evening Star pattern by Debbie Maddy. It is for 80 x 80 quilt. All the squares are cut to 4 7/8". First border is 2 1/2" cut and outer border is 5 1/2" cut. Hope this helps. This was a very easy quilt to make. Just remember don't use directional fabrics.

Thanks for all your input......the pattern I have (Evening Star) is for a 60X60 so enlarging to 80X80 makes it work.....I
I love this board!!!

Great suggestion since my pattern says 60X60 and the one posted says 80X80 and the look the same and (if my memory serves me right) the required yardage is also the same. Do you know here Board ID?.....can't seem to find her by name. Thanks !

If it's the large lone star in the middle, you don't want the star to be any bigger, at 58-60" the star will cover the top of the bed. To make the quilt bigger, you'll want to add more borders.

Making one without y seams is fairly easy. You make strip sets for the star points, cut them at a 45 degree angle, and the triangles and squares in the corners are pieced.
