I would like to hand quilt this quilt. Would appreciate suggestions for a design. Thank you very much.

I would put several rows of quilting following the up and down of the pattern ....chevrons...across each block. Love the fabrics you chose. Great job.

Pretty top! Rows of stitching following the chevrons would be the easiest or you could stitch 1/4 inch inside all the seam allowances in each diamond shape.

Love your quilt, very pretty colours. Thank you for sharing. I would quilt it like the members suggested above.

Not sure how I would quilt it, just wanted to say that it's beautiful. BrendaK

I would do a 1/4 inch inside each diamond. Love your quilt!

That is a fascinating quilt! I would get a piece of upholstery plastic and draw on it with erasable marker, to audition designs. Three rays that widen to the center and then narrow back down to the bottom point of each piece might look good. I would stay 1/4" out to avoid seams. Or you might come up with a simple motif for the center of each piece that would follow its shape. Browsing on pinterest might give you some ideas.

sorry i can't help on the hand quilting part just want to say thats a beautiful quilt is there a name for it.........

I agree with Tartan that 1/4" inside would look nice. Depending on how quickly you need this done, I also think that doing vertical columns of feathers (or maybe ones that curve from one column to the next at the top or bottom) would look pretty.

Beautiful quilt. I think it would be pretty to stitch inside each chevron 1/4". Just my suggestion as I don't hand quilt but just thought that would look nice.

I would do an X in each diamond.. easy yet compliments the piecing..

I once quilted a rhombus shape using straight lines parallel to the top of each rhombus about an inch apart. It gave more zigzag feeling to the design if you are looking for that.

beautiful quilt...but other than that - no help here....sorry!

I would quilt curved lines across and down the centers creating a curvy grid.

sinceresissy 11-07-2016 05:38 AM

I think I would quilt three lines across starting 1/4" from top, 1/4" from bottom, and then in the middle and go across. That is a lot of quilting so I don't know. I would definitely skip over the seam lines.

I love your color choices. Nice work so far.

Very nice colors and pattern. I also think outlining about 1/4" inside would help set-off the design.

Sorry folks, but I disagree with following the line of the piecing, or echoing, and think it needs something swirly or bubble shaped to break up the straight lines of the quilt and show the actual quilting.

That was my first thought too.
