I just talk to a 12 year old girl (will be a 7th grader) and she asked if I would make her a quilt. I do not have any grands so I am out of the loop what patterns and things 12 years old liked and I can not remember what I liked at 12. You really do want to know. So if anyone could tell me about patterns that they have made for 12 year olds. I thank you ahead of time. Marye

I think pretty much anything that is purple would fill the bill!

You can't go wrong with the pin wheels, you might want to ask her for a favorite color. Good luck, this is so sweet of you.

I have found that almost all 12-16 year old girls like pink, purple, neon green.....basically brights and a little bling. Find out her favorite color. That will help:)

If she has a favorite team or character you maybe able to do something around it. We had a friend that was into Tinkerbell and she thought it was the greatest thing ever because no one had one like it. My daughter's friend wanted a Christmas quilt like the ones I had made for my daughters. It was such a simple thing, they were just 6 inch squares of different Christmas fabrics. So I am not sure what she wants, sometimes it is just best to ask.

pick a pattern that you want to do and ask her to come shopping for the fabric with you. Shared time, possibly a new quilter? and the colors she likes

Find out her favorite colors, then just about any pattern will do!
