I don't see why you couldn't just play around with the pieces till you come up with a pleasing combination, be it log cabin or an original design.

Think outside the box!

Your idea of a log cabin with different size logs is a good one. Whatever you decide, please post pictures when you get done!

Actually, I love paper piecing. I will have to explore that option too. Maybe a sampler would be the way to go, some pp's and some regular piecing....ahhh the possibilities.

Mom-6, You are right about thinking out of the box...I'm just not good at that sometimes. :| Maybe since I am rather new at this I am afraid the quilt police will get me... 8-)
