Need thread color advice....PLEASE!!
 

:)What color should I use on the quilting of this top?
I plan to do an all-over stippling design, but not sure what color I should use. If I use a cream as in the blocks, it will really stand out on the darker sashing.
If I use a darker color, it will clash with the lighter blocks.:pugh!!

This may sound crazy, but how would lt. orange look?

If you are going to stipple, I would use whatever color matches the background and stipple just the blocks. You might want to outline the design first in the blocks. I would stitch in the ditch in a color that matches the sashing. The do something simple in the border. Blocks are really cute. Good Luck !!

I would definitely match the background. Any other color would detract from the hand embroidery. Even if you are doing an all over stipple the light in the dark colored sashing would not detract near as much as dark on the light colored background and fighting with your embroidery.

I think the ideal solution would be what Joellyn suggested. That you may wish to stablize the quilt by SID and only stipple in the cream and do something different in the sash.

Exactly what I was thinking too.

The sashing looks narrow enough that it shouldn't need to be quilted. When you are done with the stipling of the blocks though, you might want to just run a straight stitch around the edge to stabelize the borders before you bind it.
