Need tips using stencils that continue on border
 

How do you measure to make sure your stencil will go all the way to the end of the quilt. Do you measure border and the stencil and divide to see how many repeats to make to the corner. All help and tips will help me greatly and I really appreciate all of you in your knowledge and wisdom. Want to use a stencil and not sure how to mark it. It doesn't have any restrigration lines or marks. Thanks a bunch .

I generally start my stencils in both corners of a border, working toward the center, and making adjustments along the way to 'make it fit.' Sometimes one has to leave a section out right at the center and create a unique design to fit that space where the stencil won't work.

Depending on the stencil, I have made the design fit by elongating sections, or shortening sections. I often trace my quilting design onto examining table paper, and then adjust by tucking to shorten or cutting the design a bit to elongate. It is harder to "fudge" in the corners, much easier to do the adjustments on the sides of your quilt.

I agree with the others...start in the corner and then fudge in the middle. You could also make some registration marks on the stencil - poke a couple of holes with an awl or other sharp object.
